Connection in Windows XP
Getting to the New Connection Wizard
- Click on Start and then click on Control Panel on the right side of the menu.
- Click on Network Connections (or Network and Internet Connections on some systems).
- Click on Create a New Connection (or Setup or change your Internet connection on some systems).
- In the Internet Properties window that appears, click on the Setup... button if it appears.
New Connection Wizard
- Click on Next in the welcome screen.
Network Connection Type
- Leave the selection on Connect to the Internet
- Click on Next.
Getting Ready
- Select Set up my connection manually
- Click on Next.
Internet Connection
- Leave the selection on Connect using a dial-up modem.
- Click Next.
Connection Name
- ISP Name: Type in Nationwide for the ISP Name.
- Click Next.
Phone Number to Dial
- Phone Number: Enter the local dial-up phone
number for where you live. For southeast Florida our numbers
are:
Dade 305-356-2920 Broward 954-343-6920 Boca Raton 561-953-6920 Homestead 786-217-1042 West Palm 561-909-2920 - Make sure to include the area code (but not a "1') for full 10-digit dialing, even though it's a local, toll free call! In Windows, this is usally easiest to do by putting the full 10-digit phone # in the phone number field and leaving the area code blank.
Internet Account Information
- Username: Type your Nationwide username in small letters. Do not type in the @nationwideinc.com part.
- Password: Type in your password.
- Confirm password: Type in your password again.
- Click Next.
Completing the New Connection Wizard
- Click Finish.
- Click on Start.
- Right click Internet Explorer at the top of the Start menu and then select Internet Properties.
- Click on the Connections tab.
- Select Dial whenever a network connection is not present.
- Click OK.
